Being in Korea POSTED AT 10:02 AM
Being here in Sure things here are strange and in some cases out right bizarre but u know what you have to learn to laugh at them and accept them for what they are… Being a teacher has given me the opportunity to be part of the community here and as I have learnt to accept and welcome there moments I have come to realize that I have experienced things that many people will never get to experience and that stories I have of Korea will be unique to just me… Lately I have been reading a number of articles about the differences of being a tourist and a traveler… And I guess one of the main differences is that as a traveler your so much more part of the community. And as you become part of its fabric you come to realize how precious those moments are…. As a teacher, that is even more so…. Not only do you become part of the community you cease to be an outsider you’re allowed to interact and it is in that interaction that you learn to appreciate what it means to be part of the community…. Sure there are going to be lots of things I will remember
